How to Report a Player on InfectedCraft
If you encounter a player on our server who is violating the rules, engaging in inappropriate behavior, or exploiting bugs, we encourage you to report them. Reporting helps maintain a friendly and enjoyable community for everyone. Follow the steps below to ensure that the issue is addressed promptly. In this topic we will guide you trough the steps of how to report a player.
Step 1: Gather Evidence
Before submitting a report, it is important to collect evidence of the player's misconduct. This can include:
- Screenshots: Take clear screenshots of the player's actions (chat logs, griefing, inappropriate behavior, etc.);
- Video Clips: If possible, record a short video showing the player breaking the rules. This can help us understand the situation better;
- Chat Logs: If the issue occurred in the chat, make sure to copy the relevant chat logs (screenshot of chat will suffice).
Step 2: Identify the Offender
You’ll need to provide the following details to report a player effectively:
- Minecraft Username: Ensure you have the correct username of the player;
- Date & Time: Record when the incident occurred, as this helps us investigate further.
Step 3: Submit Your Report
Once you’ve gathered the necessary information, follow these steps to submit your report:
- Via In-Game Commands: Using the command /report [Username] [Reason] you can report the player that is being a threat towards the community and the server.
- Via the Forum (recommended) : The best option is to report a player using the 'Report Player' topic on our forum. This way you can provide your report with the required evidence, including a extensive explanation of the situation. To do this go to the topic 'Report Player' and create a new topic. Be sure to attach any screenshots or videos as evidence. Without evidence your report may be rejected.
Step 4: Follow up
After submitting your report, staff will investigate the matter. If necessary, they may ask you for additional information or clarification. Please be patient while they look into the situation, as these investigations can take some time.
What Happens After You Report?
After a report is submitted, the server staff will:
- Investigate: Review the evidence and take action if the player's behavior violates the server rules.
- Take Action: Depending on the severity of the offense, actions can range from warnings, temporary bans, or even permanent bans.
- Follow-Up: If needed, the reporting player may be informed of the outcome, though privacy may limit how much information is shared about the action taken.
Important Notes:
- Be Honest: Only report players if you are certain that they are breaking the rules. False reports can lead to consequences.
- Respect Privacy: Do not share personal information in the report unless necessary for the situation.
- Stay Calm: If you report someone, always remain polite and patient with staff members as they handle the case.
- No spamming: Note that it is forbidden to report a player twice for the same reason. This may have consequences for the report you have send in. Remember that investigation can take some time, please be patient.
- Not via Discord: Reporting a player is only possible via the InfectedCraft forum or on the InfectedCraft server itself using the right command. Trying to report a player on our discord server is forbidden and will not suffice as a report.
By following these steps, you're helping to ensure that our server remains a fun and safe place for all players. Thanks for your cooperation!
